Missing Snowmachiners, One Found, One Still Missing

The search continues for a missing snowmachiner. 18-year-old Thomas Brown is from Ambler. Troopers say he and another boy — Josiah Ballot — disappeared last week while snowmachining between Kotzebue and Noorvik. Ballot found severely frostbitten over the weekend. Searchers are still looking for brown on the ground and in the air tonight.

Alaska USA Federal Credit Union is changing its name! Officials say the new name — “Global Credit Union” — better reflects the company’s worldwide service. They also stress: while the company’s name is changing, services will stay the same. Alaska USA will officially start going by “Global Credit Union” in April.

Fire At Business In Juneau

A machinery parts and services shop caught fire in Juneau. Capital City Fire and Rescue say the fire at NC Machinery started in the area of a waste oil burner — and was spotted by an employee. The damage was contained to that area and no one was hurt.
