Routine Traffic Stop in Nikiski results in Arrest under Multiple Charges

On September 22 at 1:25 PM, Soldotna Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a gold Toyota Sienna van on Holt Lamplight near Canova Court in Nikiski after it was observed on Baun Drive going 60mph in a 25mph residential area.

The driver was identified as 25 year old Christian T. Athey of Nikiski. The front seat passenger was recognized by state troopers as 36 year old Gordon L. Stanley of Anchorage.

A record check of Stanley showed he had multiple warrants for his arrest and was listed as an absconder from Anchorage Adult Probation. Stanley provided state troopers with a false name and date of birth. Stanley was ultimately placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Stanley has a previous misconduct involving controlled substance conviction within the last 10 years. Stanley was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial for misconduct involving controlled substance 4th degree, False Information, and his outstanding warrants.

Athey was issued a misdemeanor citation for Reckless Driving and released on his own recognizance.
